Bitcoins Accepted Here

We are pleased to announce the Carpe Diem are now able to accept payment for our services in Bitcoins.
After a successful presentation to the Jersey tech community, we noted a growing interest in Bitcoins in Jersey and are hoping to raise the profile of Bitcoin as a day to day currency for goods and services.  Until easy mechanisms for spending your Bitcoins exists, the price will remain volatile.

With this in mind, we like to practice what we preach, so from today, we are pleased to announce that any of our invoices can now be settled in Bitcoins.  Just let us know that you would like to pay in Bitcoins, and we will send you a payment link for the invoice amount converted to Bitcoins.

We are offering a 10% discount for the first 10 invoices settled in Bitcoins.

We made Gold!  We are very pleased to announce that we have just been appointed Gold Partner status by Xero.  A first for the Channel Islands.

WorldPay Zinc

We have been testing the new WorldPay Zinc card payment tool over the last week and it appears to be a very useful little bit of kit.

So what is it? It is a card reader that allows you to take payments by credit or debit card.  What is somewhat unique is that this is a battery operated, bluetooth enabled card reader which uses an iPhone app to make the payment.

After a few teething problems with charging and configuration, we were up and running . The device can be purchased for a one off fee of £59.  No monthly fees or long term contracts, just a fixed 2.75% fee from each card payment.  You can apply for it as a sole trader or a company and although it takes 4 days to clear the funds, it appears as individual transactions directly in your nominated bank account, which makes it great for using with Xero and your automated bank feed imports and bank reconciliations. It can even ‘airprint’ an invoice or email the invoice to the customer straight from the app.

If you are not in a position yet to obtain a full merchant account from your bank, we recommend this as a good tool for collecting payments from clients.
